Dear Colleague,
We kindly invite you to participate in the SCOPE (Spread and COmpetency of Point-of-care ultrasound in the management of cardiac arrest in Europe) survey, developed by the Scientific Sub-Forum Trauma & Resuscitation – Critical Emergency Medicine of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC).
Point-of-care ultrasound for the management of cardiac arrest (CA-POCUS) has been shown to be highly accurate in promptly diagnosing reversible causes of non-shockable rhythms, as well as for prognostic purposes. However, high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation requires minimizing interruptions to chest compressions, which poses significant challenges to the widespread adoption of CA-POCUS. Ideally, ultrasound should be performed during the brief pause for rhythm re-evaluation, which should last no more than 10 seconds, a skill that requires specific training and competency and has yet to be clearly defined.
This anonymous and confidential survey consists of 33 questions and takes approximately 11 minutes to complete. Its goal is to explore how, when, and by whom CA-POCUS is performed, as well as the reasons why it may not be used. Your input is invaluable in helping us identify potential barriers to its implementation and develop effective educational strategies to facilitate its adoption in clinical practice.
Please, kindly note that the link sent in the previous newsletter was incorrect. Below, you will find the correct link to complete the survey |
