A comprehensive overview of research activities at ESAIC

Update on the practice of mechanical ventilation in non-ARDS ICU patients


In 2022, the PRoVENT 2+ research group, led by Martin Scharffenberg, MD, conducted an international study on intensive care units to assess MV strategies and outcomes in consecutive patients. The goal was to increase patient numbers compared to the original PRoVENT study.

ESAIC Research Grant Winners

In 2023, the BJA Foundation - ESAIC Grant awarded two grants to two outstanding projects within the framework of anaesthesia.  

The ESAIC also granted two other awards to early career researchers: the ESAIC Andreas Hoeft Grant dedicated to intensive care, and the ESAIC Research Project Grant dedicated to anaesthesiology.  

These grants were also highly competitive and attracted many high-quality applications.
